Schwinn Circuit at JR's Recyclables This bicycle was literally pulled out of a container of scrap metal bound for the shredder Little was it known the seat post, handlebar stem, and bottom bracket cone were very very stuck Circuit is a 1987 No bicycles were made in Chicago since 1982 Its more organized than it looks Circuit arrives at home Rusty Gold ---Heh! 240 Years Cycle to Rankin, IL

That is roughly the combined years of age of the 3 of us who ventured west to Rankin, Illinois.  We had been talking about a longer jaunt than the usual loop around south of town and today was the day. So. Dave. Dwight. and Rich head west.  Two Raleighs and a Novara Rondonee. My Raleigh and a very decrepit shed just across the alley from Dave's place Met up with Dwight and here we are descending the slope into one of the outlets of glacial lake Watseka Under extreme precipitation conditions it still sort of functions to drain water southward Thats Dave on the left with Dwight in the lead I'm riding sweep to ensure they don't get lost or left behind  ;) Way down the road a sprayer refills with pesticide for the soybeans Dwight either is or is near 90 years old! Scotland/Poland

A frustrating drive to the airport through Melbourne's permanently gridlocked traffic. But we arrived in plenty of time for our flight. We caught the tram from passport control to the departure gate.   Then a direct flight to Dubai in a full Airbus A380. They hold up to 880 passengers and I didn't see any spare seats. Sixteen hours, three films, three meals and no sleep later, we arrived cramped and tired in Dubai.   Coming in to land at Dubai. A large network of freeways weaves through the city. It is hard to believe that Dubai got its first paved road as recently as 1970. There are dozens of skyscrapers, including the tallest building in the world - the Burj Khalifa. It was 34C when we landed. Tolerable. But it wasn't yet 5am and it promised to be a hot day. The Dubai Mall claims to be the biggest shopping centre in the world, and also the most visited place on Earth in 2023.
