Around the Neighborhood/Across Town/and Out of Town
Our little enclave built mostly in the 1950's - 60's
Engineers at FMC designed it and its known as FMC subdivision
A high water table in this area makes the acronym mean
"Flood My Crawlspace" more accurate

View east on Sprague Road
Named for Sprague-Sells which was an agricultural machinery producer eventually purchased by FMC
Encouraging sign to persevere thru Covid-19
Turning south onto Wilson Avenue
Never have discovered who Wilson was or what he had to do with FMC
Cul de Sac named for the Sells of Sprague-Sells
Wilson turns west, then intersects with Euclid Ave
Thats Sprague Road going to the right
So we have made a loop around the subdivision
Now headed west on Elm street
Many homes here are prefabricated ones made in Lafayette, IN
Playground at Maple School
Where the FMC plant used to be
Tremendous fire destroyed the building when a subsequent tire re-cycler caught fire
CEO spent many years in this, the office part of the building
On the west side of town now, heading toward our previous neighborhood
Previous home with 2 garages
Garage on the left would hold 3 full sized 1960's Oldsmobiles -- with very careful maneuvering and a very thin driver!
We had the Old Car Bug -- but got over it 😁

Stay Healthy
Keep Your Head Up
Back way into the park
Playground closed here too
Abandoned TRW plant -- made electronic components
Hooterville always was a blue collar town with many small manufacturing industries
All gone now except for one cannery -- Teasdale Foods
Originally was a true Drive In, then dining room added, and now back to Drive In only
New(er) homes just southeast of the park
And look who is crossing the street!
That is an "Opossum" ---Possums are only in Australia and Oceania
Southgate subdivision in the southwestern part of town
Typical homes in Southgate
Southgate "newer" homes, but none are new
Now a mile south of town and headed east
Prepping machinery for planting
Anhydrous Ammonia tank -- used as a source of nitrogen for the corn
Viciously wicked stuff -- Inhalation Hazard!
Heading north on 7th street back to town
Wouldn't be at all surprised that those buses have made their last run for this school year -- we will see . . . .
Seriously doubt I was the intended recipient for that sign 😉
So concludes a round-a-bout ride of town and environs
